Strike Authorization Meeting - June 28th

Here are the facts:
AT&T is being accused of unfair labor practices by the union for it's non-neutrality during union organizing attemtps at the new parts of AT&T, such as TCI, AT&T Wirless, and AT&T Local Services. According to the current contract, on page 305, both the union and AT&T agree to be neutral during organizing attempts.... this has not happened.

AT&T is trying to keep the union out of the jobs of the company's future. Broadband, Local, Wireless... the growth markets of AT&T are being kept non-union, work that once was part of the CSSC's, such as Fairhaven's NCAC are being out-sourced to non union workers in other states. Why is this happening?

Well, right now the ratio of union to non union workers in AT&T is 30% union, 70% non-union. Why is that? The majority of the new companies that AT&T are buying are NON UNION. AT&T has been given the chance to arbitrate this issue of not being neutral during the organizing 4 TIMES, and each time they have refused to join the arbitration.

On May 10th 2002, our current contract ends. What happens if AT&T is even more non-union by then? We lose.... big!

Information is forthcoming from your union leaders, stewards, a newsletter, and of course the web page, to give you more information on what CWA is going to do.
