Thank you for calling local 1051's information tape; this is Thursday, December 8, 2005 President Teoli speaking.
AT&T bargaining is not going well, strike preparations have been made for all AT&'T members. Strike material has been mailed to the Local office, and our Local is prepared if CWA goes on strike end midnight Saturday.
Our Local has numerous locations that we will be picketed, all members are to report to their location, however do not enter any building. If you are unsure of what to do, please see your picket captain or steward or DVP in your location. The National web page, www.cwa-comtech.org will be updated on Saturday, as well as our Local one, www.cwalocal1051.org, so please keep informed by these methods. Our Local information tape will be updated on Sunday morning, so please call 508-990-9167.
The thing is to prepare for a strike, and hope for the best. The two most important issues are retiree healthcare, and job security; we will not allow our retirees to get slighted on their healthcare. If we donít have job security, we donít have anythingÖ. All members need to be strong and united.
Bargaining for the Town of Ayer will resume on December 12th, at 10am; we hope to sign off on an agreement shortly thereafter.
Town of Littleton is waiting for ratification from the members, and Town of Hudson will start negotiations in January. This will complete all bargaining for our Local.
Local 1051 will have a get together this Friday at Rochesterís, for Fairhaven Members, appetizers will be served.
I want to wish everyone a safe and happy holiday season.
Thanks for calling Local 1051 information tape, have a great day.
