Thank you for calling local 1051's information tape; this is Monday, December 5, 2005 President Teoli speaking.
AT&T bargaining has resumed with the New AT&T, with only 5 days left to our contract, both sides are committed to come to an agreement. However, the members have voted overwhelmingly to give CWA leaders authorization to call a strike if a fair contract cannot be reached. I want to thank everyone who participated in the strike vote. For more info on bargaining, please visit our web page at www.cwalocal1051.org
Bargaining for the Town of Ayer will resume on December 12th, at 10am; we hope to sign off on an agreement shortly thereafter.
Town of Littleton is waiting for ratification from the members, and Town of Hudson will start negotiations in January. This will complete all bargaining for our Local.
I just returned from a District one conference, with the prime topic being RESOULTUION ONE that was passed at the CWA convention. Ready for the future. Each local is being asked to come up with new ideas for the National Union. This will be included in the CWA NEWS package mailed to members in January. If you have any suggestions, please either email or call the local.
Local 1051 will have a get together this Friday at Rochester’s, for Fairhaven Members, appetizers will be served. I want to wish everyone a safe and happy holiday season.
Thanks for calling Local 1051 information tape, have a great day.
